PLANS to build a manager's house at Fairwood Lakes Holiday Park near Dilton Marsh have run into an objection from a nearby resident.
The applicant, Crispin Thomas, has applied for planning permission to build a manager's house with a shop and office and living accommodation above.
He also wants to replace a cafe with a clubhouse, spa building and re-plan an approved lodge area and extension to provide an additional 22 lodges including the replacement of touring pitches.
Jennifer Dallaway, writing on behalf of her mother Denise Williams, of Fairwood Road, said: "The scale of the proposed expansion is completely inappropriate for this rural area."
She said it would cause further environmental damage, more significant traffic volume and safety issues, increased noise and disturbance, and further deterioration to privacy.
Dilton Marsh Parish Council also objected to the scheme on the grounds that the proposed buildings would be located on a flood plain.
The parish council also objected on the grounds of the scale and size of the proposed development, highways safety, increased traffic, and impact on the A36 highway and local amenities.
Wiltshire Council is due to make a decision by Monday May 10. The deadline for comments is Friday, March 12.
