A man who racially abused a member of rail staff before smashing a glass fire escape door is being hunted by police.

Officers have released CCTV of a man they want to speak with in connection with the offences, which took place on Tuesday February 23 at Preston Railway Station.

Police say the man entered the station at around 4.20pm and spoke with some revenue staff before an argument broke out and he began hurling racist abuse at them.

He was later seen leaving the station before being caught on CCTV kicking a glass fire escape door and smashing one of the lower panes of glass.
