A woman driver was taken to the Royal United Hospital in Bath following a three-vehicle crash on the A350 near Great Hinton at 4.50pm on Tuesday.
It is understood the woman was not seriously injured, although a Wiltshire Air Ambulance attended the scene.
The collision closed the main road in both directions between West Ashton and Semington.
Fire crews from Trowbridge and Bradford on Avon prised the roof off a silver Honda involved in the accident.
Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "The medically trapped casualty was extricated by firefighters using hydraulic cutting equipment and a long board.
"After handing the casualty over into the care of South Western Ambulance Service crews made all vehicles involved safe before returning to home stations."
The other two vehicles involved in the crash were a red Audi and a black BMW Mini.
