As England takes its first steps out of lockdown next week (March 29) Wiltshire Council has given an update on what services will make a return on Monday.

From Monday people will be allowed to meet in groups of up to six from different households or two households of any size – including in private gardens.

Kate Blackburn, director of public health heralded the new measures as great but reminded residents to maintain social distancing.

“The whole of Wiltshire has worked so hard to bring the infection rate down here, and we need to keep following the rules to keep cases low,” she said.

On Monday some outdoor sports facilities will also reopen for the likes of football and tennis fans – the council said its currently contacting sports clubs to give out help and advice.

The council leisure facilities opening include the tennis courts at Springfield Community Campus in Corsham, the football pitches at Five Rivers Health and Wellbeing Centre in Salisbury for club block bookings, and the tennis courts at the Nadder Centre in Tisbury.

This does not mean any changing or toilet facilities will open at this date.
