Hundreds of people took part in a survey on the future of Doric Park in Trowbridge. Nearly 80 per cent of the votes were in favour of a new 3G pitch.

The survey asked residents if they backed the proposed 3G pitch development or not.

Rob Cook: It’s OK as long as it makes money to pay the debt off.

Adrian Giles: Just to clarify less than 700 people voted out of the whole of Trowbridge . Of those more voted in favour. Says more that people don’t care and know the vote will make no difference than they actually want it.

Paul Hutchinson: Makes more sense than £900k for a museum!

We asked our online readers if they thought people who are fully vaccinated should be allowed to meet indoors. Most people said no, although many had conflicting points of view.

Catherine Sammons: Just because you are vaccinated it does not mean you are immune it means it won’t be as severe. I would advocate still wearing masks when you do meet people, but that’s just my view

Stacey Pederick: Yes or what was the point in having a vaccination. People need to start living or just start digging yourself a grave now

Lisa Blackburn: If we can’t meet inside with friends and family if everyone in the group has been vaccinated then when will we be safe to do that?? Surely there comes a time that once you have all been vaccinated you have to either be willing to take the risk or live a life alone of never seeing friends and family?

I wouldn’t say now is the time to re-introduce meeting family and friends inside our homes because not everyone has been offered the vaccine but eventually when we have then I can’t see it being a problem because otherwise what’s the point in considering having the vaccine (this is unless of course another variant pops up that the vaccine doesn’t work against)

Andy C McMillin: No as you can still get the virus and pass it on. Vaccine only limits severity of symptoms.

Sheryl Sketchley: No. 1. this would be way to difficult to police and 2.

The vaccine doesn’t make you immune, you can still catch it, and pass it on without knowing you have it.

Heather Durbin: No. No guarantee it has worked on both parties

Laura Cane-Blayde: I have been vaccinated, but still no, there are some people through no fault of their own who cannot have the jab for multiple reasons, not even going in to the fact that you can possibly still spread and catch the virus.

Kirstey Hansford: No, it doesn’t make people immune and they can still carry/pass it on. Just makes symptoms less severe.. So potentially they could carry it, and pass it onto someone who hasn’t been vaccinated and make them very poorly.

Sharon Charity: Actually maybe yes... they are allowing that in Ireland.

Readers demanded better awareness for mental health care in the UK, after an article about an emergency response to concerns for a man’s safety on top of St Stephen’s Place car park. The man came down from the building after discussions with officers, and was taken to a place of safety.

Jay King-Taylor: There really should be more help with peoples mental health. So many people attempting or attempting a way out cus they feel as low as they do. Its heartbreaking. Really hope this person gets the help they so clearly need

Roz Bennett Hanson: The lack of help for anything mental health related in this county is infuriating! Especially for the younger generation! The council need to wake up and realise the system is not helping anyone!!!

Vicky Gingell: What is it with that car park? Something should be done to stop this.

Joseph Bidwell: When are the mental health services going to realise they are needed I hope this person gets the help they need and see that life is worth it!

Rachel Ellen Bodley Robinson: I think people need to realise that it’s not all government or mental health services related because they aren’t doing enough. So many times it’s because that person doesn’t want to talk to anyone about what’s going on or has nobody to talk to so that’s what causes them to do these things. Everyone just needs to be a bit nicer to people
