FORMER Swindon Town goalkeeper Mark Travers headed in a 92nd minute equaliser for AFC Bournemouth U21s against Eastleigh in the Hampshire Senior Cup final on Tuesday night.

The Cherries' academy went on to lift the trophy on penalties, but only after a thrilling 90 minutes that Travers starred in.

Eastleigh went 1-0 up early on before Bournemouth equalised through a superb free-kick in the 33rd minute.

The ex-Town stopper - who featured eight times for Swindon in January - stepped up to the plate five minutes before half-time to keep out a penalty, only for the National League outfit to nudge ahead two minutes after the break.

With Bournemouth trailing in added time, Travers went up for a corner and beat his marker to power home from the near post.

The Irishman continued his heroics by saving the first Eastleigh penalty in the shoot-out which helped the Cherries academy to a 5-3 success.
