AN inquest into the death of a Trowbridge man who died in the River Avon near Claverton in Bath is to be held in June.

Kondwani Kapepa Mwale, 24, from Amber House in Bythesea Road, was pulled from the river near Warleigh Weir on November 9 last year.

An inquest into his death was opened and adjourned by Wiltshire and Swindon coroner Ian Singleton on November 24.

The inquest will resume at 11am on June 17 at the Coroner's Court offices in Salisbury.

Friends of Mr Mwale raised concerns after he messaged them on social media on the day he went missing on October 26 saying he intended to take his own life.

Police and specialist search and rescue volunteers from Wiltshire Search and Rescue in Devizes were called out but failed to find him.

His body was eventually pulled from the river a few days later.
