A group of 16 crew members from three McDonald’s restaurants in Wiltshire recently carried out litter picks at their respective branches to keep their local area tidy.

An impressive 26 bags of litter were collected across the three restaurants in honour of World Environment Day.

The volunteers, from the Melksham, Trowbridge and Chippenham McDonald’s restaurants, maintained a two-metre distance at all times to ensure social distancing rules were followed. All volunteers wore their own PPE and facemasks and all equipment was sanitised before and after the event.

Mike Guerin, who owns and operates several restaurants in the local area, said: “I’m really proud of my team for giving up their time and efforts to do their bit for our fellow community members. Across the South West region we had 40 employees take part in the litter picks and we collected nearly 60 bags of rubbish. McDonald’s is committed to fighting litter in our local communities and we are really happy with the difference we made.”
