THREE teenagers have been arrested in connection with a robbery in Trowbridge in which an e-scooter was stolen.

Officers were called at around 6.45pm yesterday (05/07) after a young couple were approached close to the Tesco Extra supermarket. Officers quickly carried out a search of the local area and, within an hour, had identified potential suspects.

Three boys, aged 14, 15 and 15, were arrested on suspicion of robbery and taken to Melksham Police Station to be interviewed. They have since been released on conditional bail while enquiries continue. The stolen e-scooter has been recovered.

Inspector Louis McCoy said: “This was a fantastic piece of teamwork by local officers, who managed to arrest three suspects and recover the stolen item within the hour.

“We hope this provides reassurance we will respond swiftly to these types of incidents. We will not tolerate this sort of criminality in our communities.”
