VISITORS to Iford Manor this summer will be able to see a golden kingfisher.

The bird, called Sulis, is the 22nd of 22 giant sculptures designed by artists to promote the Cotswold Kingfisher Trails.

The golden kingfisher marks the most southerly point of the Cotswold Thames Trail.

Designed by artist Guy Warner, Sulis will be perched in the cafe at Iford Manor near Bradford on Avon until mid-October.

Tickets to win the golden kingfisher can be purchased on the Kingfisher App (download from the App Store) for just £10.

A spokeswoman said: "A limited number of 500 tickets are available so ticket holders have a great chance of winning this very special kingfisher."

A flying kingfisher will visit Westbury Gardens in Bradford on Avon again between August 23 and September 5.

In addition, there is a permanent kingfisher in Royal Wootton Bassett.

Organisers are using the 22 sculptures to promote two trails through the Cotswolds.

In the west, there is the Severn Trail; in the east, there is the Thames Trail.

Each trail has a series of colourful kingfisher sculptures, painted by local artists.
