TOMORROW (July 31) is the last chance for residents to have their say on the rules surrounding dogs on leads in John Coles Park.

The public survey, which began on July 1 and will end on August 1, seeks to establish whether or not a new rule should be in place requiring dog-owners to leash their pets in the park.

Results of the consultation will go towards helping inform the Amenities, Culture and Leisure committee on their final decision.

In September last year, a controversial decision was taken to force dog owners to keep their pets leashed at all times.

What followed was a significant outcry from the public which forced a u-turn from the town council in November.

At the first meeting of the amenities, cultural and leisure committee in 2021 it was agreed that an in-person and online consultation into the decision should run.
