A MAN has been charged by police investigating an incident in Roundstone Street, Trowbridge, on Saturday during which a man was injured and required hospital treatment.
James William Smith, 34, from Trowbridge, has been charged with possession of a knife blade/ sharp pointed article in a public place, criminal damage to property valued under £5,000 and Section 18 Grievous Bodily Harm with intent.
He has been remanded in custody to appear before Swindon Crown Court on September 3.
His arrest followed an incident at a Trowbridge flat on Saturday which left a man needing hospital treatment.
Police said they were alerted shortly after 7am by a member of the public to a possible stabbing at an address in Roundstone Street above the 7 Days Shop convenience store.
A male victim was taken to the Royal United Hospital in Bath to be treated for injuries caused by a bladed article.
