THE organisers of this year's Holt Scarecrow Trail are raising funds to help the village pre-school which needs new premises.

The event runs over the August bank holiday weekend from Saturday, August 28 to Wednesday, September 1.

They said: "This year all the money raised is being put towards our village Pre-school building campaign.

"Unfortunately, it will have to close if they cannot raise the final £50,000 they need to replace the old building.

"They are well on their way as with fundraising events and lottery applications they have already raised/been allocated £155,000."

As well as the scarecrow trail there are many other exciting things to do and see in Holt over the weekend.

The village boules tournament will also take place and both Holt Morris Men and Bell's Angels, the village's all-women Cotswold Morris dancers will also be performing.

Both of these events are usually held on Boxing Day but were postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
