A former kebab shop manager has been fined £24,000 for 12 offences of failing to comply with European food safety and hygiene regulations.

Cuneyt Ascioglu,who managed the Speedy Chef in Weymouth Street, Warminster, was fined £2,000 on each of the charges.

He was also ordered to pay costs of £4,000 and £200 to victim services, making a total of £28,200.

Cuneyt, 29, of Princess Gardens, pleaded guilty to 12 charges relating to breaching food hygiene regulations - including not controlling pests and flies.

The charges related to inspections carried out at the takeaway outlet in August, September and October in 2019.

They included failing to effectively clean and where necessary disinfect food contact equipment to avoid contamination.

He also failed to protect food at all stages of production, processing and distribution against any contamination likely to render the food unfit for human consumption.
