WILTSHIRE College & University Centre is to hold graduation ceremonies for higher education students in November for the first time in two years.

Students who finished university level courses at the College in both summer 2020 and summer 2021 will be honoured across two services at Salisbury Cathedral on Friday, November 5.

In total, the achievements of around 250 students will be marked across the day at the events, which the College hopes will be Covid-safe.

Universities Minister and Chippenham MP Michelle Donelan is to be the guest speaker at the events.

The College offers a wide variety of Higher Education courses, including a number validated by top UK universities such as Bournemouth University, Oxford Brooks University, The University of Bath, The University of Greenwich and The Royal Agricultural University.

Representatives from each of the awarding universities will also be present to honour their respective graduands.

The College has not held a Graduation ceremony since October 2019 as no event took place last year owing to the Covid-19 pandemic.

College Principal and chief executive officer Iain Hatt said: “Everyone at Wiltshire College & University Centre is incredibly proud of the amazing commitment and dedication our higher education students have shown over the last two years.

“These qualifications are an important milestone for students in whatever their chosen career path may be.

"Students can feel justifiably proud of their achievements and the College looks forward to recognising these with you.

“Having been unable to mark the achievements of our 2020 cohort last year, we felt it was only right to do so this year.

"We hope the graduation ceremonies will be a memorable occasion for all of the graduates, as well as their friends and families, and all the staff who have contributed to their success.”

The College has completed an extensive risk assessment to facilitate the two ceremonies alongside thorough advice from Public Health England.

The ceremonies will be fully compliant in line with Covid guidance from the Government at the time.

More information on protocols and regulations for the ceremonies will be sent to attendees closer to the time.

The College is grateful to everyone at Salisbury Cathedral, without whose support the ceremonies would not be able to take place.
