AN ONLINE auction has raised £21,131 towards a new £280,000 skatepark in Bradford on Avon.
One bidder paid £3,400 for one of the 40 brightly-coloured skateboards in the auction which closed on Sunday.
The price paid for the board, painted by Mr Jago, and entitled 'Underground Networking', was the highlight of the sale, organised by the Skate BoA campaign.
Another board entitled 'The Brightest Flash of Blue', decorated by local artist Matt Richards from Westwood, went for £924 to an anonymous bidder.
Kate Bessent, of Skate BoA, said: "We have been blown away by the generosity of the artists' donations and the bids.
"The auction has raised much more than we could have even hoped for. We have raised around £20,000 after some of the costs have been paid."
Skateboarder Idris Jones, now 13, started the campaign for a new skatepark three years ago after Bradford on Avon's old skatepark was demolished.
Most the decks for sale in the Art Decko auction were decorated by some of the country's leading street artists, including Inkie, Will Barras, Mr Jago and China Mike.
Contributors included local illustrators and artists Jaquetta Crook and Victoria Topping.
