Trowbridge mayor Cllr Denise Bates has helped read the news as well as making it during her civic year in office.
She recently volunteered at the town’s Civic Centre to read news articles from the Wiltshire Times for more than 70 Trowbridge Talking News members.
Cllr Bates said: "I selected a number of articles and news items from that week’s edition of the newspaper, including stories on the Innox Mills development, the Afghanistan refugees and a local girls football team."
Cllr Bates recorded them onto a USB device via a laptop, which went on to be duplicated and distributed by Trowbridge Talking News.
Trowbridge Town Council has for some time been involved with the local charity, which provides weekly recordings of news items from the Wiltshire Times for visually-impaired people in the Trowbridge area.
