ANTI-VACCINATION and conspiracy posters have popped up around Trowbridge.

Posters supposedly from the anti-lockdown group The White Rose have appeared in the county town this week.

One asked people not to “sacrifice your children to science” while another – both on a Market Street bus stop – said, “if you’re afraid of me because I’m unvaccinated does that mean your vaccines don’t work?”

Director of Public Health, Kate Blackburn said: “Vaccinations, no matter what age group they are intended for, are proven to keep people safe from a variety of illnesses and diseases.

“All vaccinations, including Covid-19 vaccinations, have been put through vigorous and robust safety checks and clinical trials beforehand.

“While we respect people’s right to choose, we would encourage anyone who is offered a vaccine to accept.”

According to NHS England data, 385,679 people aged 18 and over in Wiltshire had received their first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine by September 13.

This means that 46,059 people remain unvaccinated which is around 10 per cent of all adults in the area, based on the number of people on the National Immunisation Management Service.
