THE WARMINSTER Lions assisted their local surgery with marshalling for flu jabs.

This meant the club controlling the volume of people entering the Avenue Surgery at any one time – to keep the number of people waiting for their vaccinations to a minimum.

Members of the Lions Club will be in attendance on future dates to assist with Covid-19 injections when further sessions are confirmed.

Lions club president, Richard Owen said: “This is a repeat of the Lions Club community service when earlier this year they assisted the Avenue Surgery and the White Horse Health Centre, Westbury, with the Covid injections.

“The Lions motto is 'We Serve' and the Warminster Lions Club were delighted to be told that a local member of the community had nominated them a Certificate of Appreciation from MP Andrew Murrison, to be presented in the next few days, recognising their outstanding service to the community throughout the Pandemic period.

“As well as helping with vaccination sessions, the Club were also active with prescription collection and deliveries, community food box deliveries and orders of books and jigsaws from their local bookshop."
