RETURNING to the stage is sweeter than a jar full of honey according to a dance club putting on a show at Trowbridge's Arc Theatre from November 11-14.

The Footlights dance club was planning to put on the pantomime Goldilocks and the Three Bears until the Covid-19 pandemic forced it to cancel the production.

But now lockdown has eased the show plans are complete and the whole cast are delighted to soon be back on stage.

Show director Caroline Wilkinson said: “Our last production was Robinson Crusoe back in November 2019.

"We have been rehearsing for Goldilocks since April 2020 but mainly online. There are over 50 local children and young people performing in it. We are all very enthusiastic and desperate to perform after such a long break."

The storyline centres on Goldilocks and her mum running a struggling circus. They need a new act to bring in the crowds.

After stumbling across the cottage in the woods, it turns out The Three Bears have an undiscovered talent. Will they be able to help save the circus?

Meanwhile, the evil Baron Von Vinklebottom has other ideas. He believes The Three Bears should belong to his circus. Will good triumph evil? Will Goldilocks overcome adversity?

Caroline is determined the Trowbridge first pantomime since the pandemic will provide some much-needed fun and laughter, a glittering array of costumes and high-energy dance routines.

She said: "Be sure to be entertained by the greatest show on earth. So come on down and join the circus! It’s a very happy show and just what we all need right now.”

Performances take place on Thursday, November 11 at 7pm; Friday, November 12 at 7pm; Saturday, November 13 at 2pm and 7pm, and Sunday, November 14 at 10am and 3pm.
