HIGHWAYS teams pick up more than 150 black bags of litter from busy Wiltshire roads.

In the fourth week of cleaning up major routes on the A350, A4 and A420 Wiltshire Council’s highways team picked up nearly two tonnes of litter – or 152 bags of rubbish.

In response, the local authority is asking residents to play their part by disposing of waste responsibly.

A council spokesman said: "We urge everybody to please play your part in protecting our beautiful countryside, by simply disposing of your waste responsibly."
