ARMED police came to the rescue of a mum and her one-week-old baby after they were stranded in the cold on the M4.
The Wiltshire Police Specialist Operations team saved the pair from near-freezing temperatures after they were called to a broken-down taxi on the motorway on Monday night.
The team tweeted about the incident and said: “One of our armed police officers practising his grandad skills last night after being called to a broken down taxi on the M4.
“They soon warmed up in what is hopefully their only trip in the back of a police car,
“My colleague was very keen to point out he is not a grandad yet (but we know it is only a matter of time...).
"I should also add that mum and baby were fine and were able to continue their journey. #armedpolicing #notjustguns.”
