A yellow warning for snow has been issued by the Met Office for tomorrow (Saturday) from midnight until 10am.

The forecast predicts some areas could see up to 8cms of snowfall.

The warning covers part of Wiltshire - areas which may be impacted by the weather warning include: Swindon, Calne, Marlborough, Tidworth, Cricklade and Pewsey.

Although not covered by weather warning Melksham, Devizes, Westbury, Warminster, Chippenham, Corsham and Trowbridge could all still see snow or sleet between 1am and 8am tomorrow morning (November 27) according to Met Office forecasts.

The Met office says: "An area of rain will move southwards across central, southern and southeast England on Saturday morning. Whilst this is expected to be mostly of rain there is a chance that this will turn to snow in places, even to low levels.

"There is a chance of 2-5 cm of snow falling in some locations and perhaps up to 8 cm over some of the higher ground above 150-200m."

However, before Wiltshire dusts of its snow sleds, we're unlikely to see the white stuff stick around.

The forecast adds: "Were this to occur some disruption is likely but this would be short lived with any snow melting during the morning. The most likely outcome is that most places will see rain with only a little sleet or snow in the heaviest bursts."

For those facing the weather warning, according to the Met office, there is:

- A small chance of travel delays on roads with some stranded vehicles and passengers, along with delayed or cancelled rail and air travel

- A slight chance that some rural communities could become cut off

- A small chance that power cuts will occur and other services, such as mobile phone coverage, may be affected.

As well as the warning for snow, a yellow weather warning for wind is also in place for most of the UK, including all of Wiltshire, from midnight to 6pm on Saturday.

The Met office warns that:

- Injuries and danger to life from flying debris are possible

- Some damage to trees, temporary structures and buildings, such as tiles blown from roofs, could happen

- Road, rail, air and ferry services may be affected, with longer journey times and cancellations possible

- Some roads and bridges may close

- Power cuts may occur, with the potential to affect other services, such as mobile phone coverage

- Injuries and danger to life could occur from large waves and beach material being thrown onto sea fronts, coastal roads and properties.

A rare red weather warning has been issued for parts of the north due to high winds associated with Storm Arwen which could represent a danger to life. This warning does not affect the south.
