A serious crash occurred near Marlborough this morning, with emergency services called to the A346 at Burbage shortly after 6.15am following reports of a three vehicle collision.
Road closures have been put in place on the A346 at the A4 junction near Marlborough and the A338 roundabout in Burbage.
These road closures are likely to remain in place for some time while emergency services attend and collision investigators carry out crucial work at the scene.
The police is urging people to avoid the area and seek an alternative route when travelling through.
Wiltshire Police is appealing for witnesses who saw the collision, or anyone who has a dash cam or footage to get in touch with them by calling 101 and quoting log number 31 of December 1.
A spokesperson for the Wiltshire Fire and Rescue service said:
"We were called to the A346 at Stibb Green, Burbage at 6.31am this morning following a two vehicle road traffic collision between a car and a van.
"Three crews attended, from Marlborough, Ludgershall and Swindon, together with a heavy rescue unit from Reading. Due to the nature of this accident, we won’t be able to confirm any other details ."
