POLICE have appealing for information after a woman in Melksham was allegedly sexually assaulted in the run up to Christmas.

At about 5.30pm on Monday, December 20, a woman in her 50s was in a beer garden in Market Place when a man she did not know made a sexual gesture towards her with his hands.

The man then inappropriately touched the woman. The woman was left feeling distressed as a result.

A Wiltshire Police spokeswoman said: "Enquiries have been carried out and we would like the public’s help in identifying the man so we can speak to him in connection with the incident.

"Anyone with information should call 101 and quote crime reference number 54210124576.
