TOP scorer Harry McKirdy has committed his immediate future to Swindon Town.
The 24-year-old fans’ favourite has put pen to paper on a new deal at the County Ground having impressed since signing a one-year contract last summer.
The news comes with McKirdy experiencing a hot streak in front of goal. He found the net four times against Northampton Town on New Year’s Day, scored a famous goal against Manchester City in the FA Cup and took his tally to 12 in all competitions with another strike at Mansfield on Tuesday night.
After signing his new deal, the 24-year-old forward said: “When I spoke to my family about it, I think it was a bit of a relief for them knowing that I would be going into the summer without having to look for a club, which hasn’t been the case for the last few seasons.
“I’m really enjoying my time here, on and off the pitch, and that’s the main thing for me, I’m happy and I’m not sure what else really matters to be honest.
“It has been brilliant with the fans from the get-go, both for me and my family. They’ve been great for me, I appreciate it and it doesn’t go unnoticed.”
