ALONG with many others in Wiltshire residents at a Trowbridge care home have celebrated the Scottish poet Robert Burns.
They held a traditional Burns Night on Tuesday to celebrate the 263rd anniversary of the poet's birth in 1759.
The residents at Trowbridge Oaks on the West Ashton Road enjoyed the traditional meal of haggis and a tot of whiskey.
Guest Scottish bagpiper Ruby J Darbyshire also arrived to pipe in the haggis, which both residents and staff loved.
Robert Burns, also known familiarly as Rabbie Burns, was a Scottish poet and lyricist.
He is widely regarded as the national poet of Scotland and is celebrated worldwide every year on the anniversary of his birthday.
He died on July 21 1796 in Dumfries in the Scottish borders.
