A YOUNG music graduate is passing on his guitar skills to pupils at one of the town's performing arts schools

Ben Cousins, who studied at Falmouth University, is providing guitar lessons to Revolution Performing Arts students.

“Learning guitar is about more than just developing a skill, as playing allows young people to express themselves in a new, fun way and grow their confidence,” he said.

Founder Fi Da Silva Adams said: “Ben’s sister used to attend RPA so Ben is no stranger to the company and he shares its ethos of having a very gentle approach to learning in order to enrich the lives of young people through performing arts – progression without examination!”

The lessons in electric or acoustic guitar or bass last 30 minutes and are held at RPA’s base in Wanborough.

They are suitable for young people aged seven years upwards. No previous experience is necessary and young people can bring their own guitar though one can be provided for each lesson. Parents are invited to stay and watch the regular weekly lessons or, if they prefer, they can wait with a cup of coffee.
