Peugeot the French car-makers has opened a new base near Bradford-on-Avon – not manufacturing the new 308, but kitchenware.

Few are aware that for 80 years before the famous French brand made its first car in 1890 it had been making kitchen equipment and now the company, Peugeot Saveurs, has opened its first UK office at the Glove Factory Studios in Holt.

Peugeot Saveurs designs and manufactures pepper, salt and spice mills, coffee grinders, wine accessories, glassware and ceramic stoneware dishes.

Peugeot Saveurs UK was set up in 2021 and is led by Devizes-based managing director Chris Gee, a marketeer who has has spent 30 years working in the cook and homeware sector. The office opening in Holt comes as Chris expands the UK team with a digital marketing manager, Kerry Coleman, based in nearby Potterne.

Glove Factory Studios is located within the renovated buildings of the original Holt village tannery, which began life in the late 1700’s as a leather and glove company

“We are delighted to have set up our official base in the UK, and the converted glove factory felt like the perfect setting,” said Chris.

“The Peugeot brand brings with it an incredible heritage of excellence and innovation and I am delighted to present these fantastic French-made products to UK consumers, operating here in the heart of the Wiltshire countryside.”
