WILTSHIRE Air Ambulance was called out on Saturday after a person died after being hit by a train near Westbury.
The Great Western Railway service from Exeter to London Paddington struck the person at around 3pm on Saturday afternoon.
Emergency services, including police and the Wiltshire Air Ambulance, were called out to the scene.
The incident closed all lines and diversions were put in place while emergency services dealt with the incident.
The Wiltshire and Swindon Coroner’s office is expected to be informed after the Bank Holiday.
