A WILTSHIRE amateur dramatic group is determined the play will go on after finding a new home to stage their latest production.

Trowbridge Players are putting on the comedy ‘Community Spirit’ at Steeple Ashton Village Hall and then at Trowbridge Town Hall later this month.

The group was one of several which had struggled to find a new venue after being turned away by the Arc Theatre at Wiltshire College and University Centre in Trowbridge.

Community Spirit is the first full production put on by Trowbridge Players in more than two years because of the Covid-19 pandemic.

They have been told it’s the first play to be performed at Steeple Ashton Village Hall in many years.

The play, by David Muncaster, centres around a fictious community in the village of Snickerton who are planning the opening of a new community hall.

After a National Lottery grant enables a new hall to be built, the representatives of the local community who will use the premises gather to discuss its opening.

Performances are being staged at Steeple Ashton Village Hall on Friday and Saturday, May 13 and 14, from 7.30pm each night.

Tickets for the comedy of errors play are £10 available from The Steeple Ashton Village Shop or online. Click here.
