THE A420 near Biddestone was blocked for nearly an hour and a half earlier this morning following a road traffic collision.

It is understood that two vehicles are involved in the crash, which happened at 7.47am at Giddeahall. No-one was seriously injured.

Police, fire and ambulance emergency services attended the scene of the accident at the crossroads between Biddestone and Yatton Keynell.

A fire service spokesman said: "At 7.47am this morning, two crews from Chippenham were called to a road traffic collision on the A420 at Yatton Keynell.

“The incident involved two cars but as no casualties were trapped, our crews only needed to make the scene safe. Our stop came at 8.57am.”

A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: “We were called at around 7.45am today (17/05) to a two-vehicle road traffic collision on the A420 near Biddestone.

“Nobody is believed to have been seriously injured but the road was blocked while emergency services were in attendance.

“The road was clear by around 9.15am.”
