RESIDENTS living in the Castle Mead and Paxcroft areas of Trowbridge are coming together for a Jubilee celebration tomorrow (Friday, June 3).

A group of residents has been working together to plan a celebration that brings together all parts of the local community.

There will be live music, games, bouncy castle and a talent show for children. Children need to enter in advance by emailing melaniejacob@blueyonder.co.uk.

“It’s all for fun but there is a prize of £50 for the winner,” says town councillor Mel Jacob, one of the organisers.

“We are looking for contestants with all sorts of talents – singing, dancing, magic, juggling or something else! It’s all about coming together as a community.”

Residents are invited to bring a picnic and come together on the ‘green’ next to The Mead School off Hackett Place between 2pm and 6pm.

Cllr Jacob added: “We have the specially formed Jubilee Choir performing along with the Phoenix Twirlstars, who are off to international championships in Holland in July, local musician Dylan Smith and the Rock Choir. Alongside this ,there will be games to play and a bouncy castle.

“Later on in the summer we will be opening our Jubilee Trail and the newly-created Jubilee Meadow on Leap Gate.”
