THE inquest into the death of a Royal Artillery soldier at the Larkhill Garrison near Stonehenge is set to resume later this month.

Bombardier Nadine Dorothy Askew, aged 31, who was originally from Sunderland, died on July 22 last year.

The inquest into her death originally opened on July 30 last year and was adjourned.

The Wiltshire and Swindon area coroner Ian Singleton is set to resume the inquest over two days on June 23 and 24 in Salisbury.

After her death was announced, tributes were paid to the “highly respected” soldier, who was a member of the Royal Artillery School.

At the time, an Army spokesperson said its thoughts were with her family and was respecting their right to privacy at this sad time.

They added: “It is the coroner's role to determine cause of death and it would be highly inappropriate to speculate.”

Bombardier Askew served in the First Regiment Royal Horse Artillery, and took part in one tour of Iraq and two in Afghanistan.

She joined peacekeeping duties in Estonia, first serving in the 26th Regiment Royal Artillery, 16 Sandhams Battery, before becoming a phase 2 instructor, training recruits on an AS-90 armoured vehicle with the 1 Royal Horse Artillery (1RHA).
