WILTSHIRE and Swindon area coroner Ian Singleton is next month set to resume an inquest into the death of a man who died three years ago.

The body of missing man Michael Poulton was found in woodland near Yarnbrook on June 23 2019.

He had last been seen on Saturday, June 20 2019 at around 6.30pm walking along the A350 towards Trowbridge.

Before his death, Mr Poulton had been in contact with Wiltshire Police and they later requested an Independent Office for Police Conduct investigation.

Mr Poulton, aged 60, from the Wilton area, was reported missing and police issued a public appeal to help officers locate him.

An inquest into his death originally opened on July 3 2019 and was adjourned to a date to be arranged. It will resume at the Coroner’s Court in Salisbury over three days on July 5-7.

At the time of his death, a police spokesman said: “At this stage, this is being treated as a sudden, non-suspicious death and a report will now be prepared for the coroner.

"As Mr Poulton had been in contact with Wiltshire Police prior to his death, this matter has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC)."
