FORMER Chippenham player Archie Stanley has signed his first professional contract with Premiership rugby side Bath.

Stanley learned to play at the Allington Fields club in the mini, junior, and academy set-up before moving to his closest professional club.

The prop joins four other former Chippenham players at The Rec as part of Head of Rugby Johann van Graan’s squad for the 2022-23 season.

Back row Thompson Cowan, fly-half George Worboys, Tom Dunn, and Max Ojomoh – who was awarded Bath academy Player of the Season.

Ojomoah graduated into the senior squad after an impressive season in which has was called up to England training squads by head coach Eddie Jones.

The Chippenham quintet will be joined in the Blue, Black, and White squad by England internationals Jonathan Joseph and Beno Obano, who have committed their futures along with Bath Supporters’ and Players’ Player of the Season Will Muir.

Bath say nine new players will join the club this summer, including the experienced Dave Attwood, Northampton Saints’ JJ Tonks, and Wesley White of Jersey Reds. Munster full-back Matt Gallagher and exciting young centre Louie Hennessey join the back division.
