A second Ride to the Tide is to take place in August in memory of missing Trowbridge man Ben Garland.

Mr Garland, 24, from Southwick, went missing off the northern coast of Ibiza on January 21 2020.

He had been taking photographs after Storm Gloria and despite extensive searches, his body has yet to be found.

The only items to be recovered are his jacket and identification items and his wristwatch with a damaged strap.

Now his father Mark Garland has confirmed that a second Ride to the Tide will take place on Saturday, August 20.

He is asking bikers to meet from 10am at Trowbridge Rugby Club in Hilperton before the ride begins at 11am.

The move follows the success of the first Ride to the Tide: Ben Garland Memorial Run last year to raise funds for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI).

The 55-mile ride will finish at the RNLI headquarters in Poole and bikers of all ages and abilities are being encouraged to take part.

Refreshments will be available to purchase from the Trowbridge Rugby Football Club before the ride begins.

The cost per biker is £10, with all proceeds going to the sea rescue charity.
