CORSHAM’S Summer Fete, organised by the Town Council, returns on today (Saturday) bigger and better than ever!

The event takes place from 12-4pm, at Springfield Recreation Ground in the heart of the town and has a Jubilee theme.

There’s much to look forward to including community stalls, fairground rides, laser clay pigeon shooting, a bubbleologist, live music, beer tent, pizza, arts and crafts and more.

There’s also a Fun Dog Show, organised by Guide Dogs, with categories such as Cutest Royal Puppy and Best Regal Rescue.

At 1.39pm (weather permitting), the crowd should be wowed by a flypast from a Hawker Hurricane aircraft from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.

Town Council chairman Cllr Steve Abbott said: “We hold the Fete every other year so, with the pandemic, it’s been four years since we’ve been able to do this, and we are really looking forward to Saturday.

“The Town Council is very grateful to everyone, including our stallholders, performers, MOD Corsham, Springfield Campus and The Corsham School, for their help and support with one of our biggest events of the year.

“We look forward to welcoming everyone along to the Summer Fete on 9 July and I’m sure we’ll all have a great time.”
