A burglar has tricked an elderly lady by pretending to be a gardener.
Officers investigating the incident at a house in Trowbridge have released an electronic picture of the face they are looking for.
At approximately 11 am on June 30, a man attended a house in Summerleaze where a woman in her 80s resides.
He claimed to be a replacement gardener.
Later that evening, the woman noticed a large amount of cash was missing from her home.
Enquiries have been ongoing and we are now in a position to release an e-fit. If you recognise the man, we would like to hear from you.
PC Daniel Jackson said: “This type of crime is absolutely disgraceful – to target a vulnerable elderly woman in this way is something that I know will cause a lot of upset and concern amongst our community. Please be reassured that we take reports of this nature seriously and are following up on all lines of enquiry. We'd urge anyone with information to get in touch.”
