A stolen vehicle has been found after a burglary in a Wiltshire village.

Officers have been investigating the incident where a BMW stolen from someone's driveway in Upavon have finally located the vehicles' whereabouts.

It comes after a house was broken into on August 11 – where offenders stole car keys from inside via a patio door, and made off in the BMW M3.

Officers from our Fortitude team have been carrying out enquiries in conjunction with officers from our Traffic unit and colleagues in Avon and Somerset Constabulary, and yesterday the vehicle was located at a lock up in a unit off Douglas Road in Bristol.

The vehicle has now been recovered and will be subject to forensic examination.

Det Sgt Darren Penny said: “The homeowner reported that they heard the vehicle being driven away at approximately 3am – we have been conducting extensive enquiries since and yesterday the vehicle was located.

"We are continuing with our enquiries and would urge anyone with information to get in touch.”
