MELKSHAM'S own singing sensation Rhiannon Lambert will be lining up for a top concert date in Bath next month.

Teenager Rhiannon will guest alongside Britain's leading operatic tenor, Alfie Boe, in concert with The Silver Ring Choir of Bath and The City of Bath Male Choir on Saturday June 28.

The concert takes place at the Bath Forum and an audience of more 1,000 is expected.

At the age of 15, Rhiannon entered a national singing competition, Festival4Stars, and received sponsorship from the Melksham Town Council and the Melksham Comedy Club.

Having won the Starry Eyes competition in Trowbridge, she went on to win the national finals in Glasgow.

With this success she then went on to win many local competitions, along with another national called M Fest.

It was at this time she came to the notice of BBC producer Rosetta Bains who has taken Rhiannon under her wing.

She was invited in July to appear with the London Gala Orchestra at the Lacock Proms before an audience of 5,000 dueting with none other than Alfie Boe.

Previous guests at Silver Ring concerts have been Jamie Cullum, Clare Teal, Katherine Jenkins, Aled Jones and Hayley Westenra.

Tickets price £35, £25 or £15 from Bath Festivals Box Office on 01225 463362.
