A pair of newly-weds are to play the lead roles in a village panto being put on by the Southwick Entertainers.

The am-dram group is producing its version of the popular Grimm Brothers fairy tale Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs.

Newly-married Chelsea Chown and her husband Ryan Chown are playing the two lead roles of Snow White and Prince Frederick.

Jeff Bendell, 74, who plays the pantomime Dame Dolly Doughnut, said: “In real life, they only got married about two weeks ago.”

The 25-strong cast also features eight dwarfs instead of the traditional seven but who’s counting?

The show is directed and produced by Mr Bendell’s granddaughter Jessica Bendell and Beth Chivers.

The curtain rises at Southwick Village Hall on Thursday (December 8) at 7.30pm for the opening night.

The show is also on at 7.30pm on Friday, December 9; a 2.30pm matinee on Saturday, December 10, followed an evening performance at 7.30pm.

Southwick Entertainers was formed in 1988 by Pat Simpson and meets on Monday evenings at 7.30pm for rehearsals at Southwick Village Hall.
