A TROWBRIDGE bar and bistro manager helped out a charity duo by supplying them with the perfect campervan.

Charity fundraisers approached Natasha Talarico, 30, the chef and manager of the ground floor restaurant in the Polebarn Hotel on behalf of UNICEF, the United Nations Children's Fund.

They were looking for the perfect camper van to take on their travels and had seen Ms Talerico's white Fiat Ducatto, which she nicknamed the Flying Lunch Box.

The fundraisers, Phil Spain and his wife Dot, who are taking part in the UNICEF Wrinklies Challenge, visited Natasha and her van at the hotel.

Ms Talarico said: "They were looking for the perfect van to drive 20,000 miles around the world and raise money for UNICEF in the process.

"The van has been my close companion for many years taking us on countless trips to Cornwall.

"When I heard about the UNICEF challenge I decided to sell it to them so that it would go on to help children.

"This is the epic fourth adventure by the wrinkly collective, entitled 'Cheap Way Round' after Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman's televised journey on motorbikes, the Long Way Round.

"It was a wrench to wave goodbye but the van will really contribute to their fundraising and I'm using the money to invest in the new bistro I'm running here in Trowbridge with my brother Fernando."
