Residents have been given notice of plans to introduce a 20mph speed restriction on more than 20 roads in a housing estate off Trowbridge town centre.

The county highways authority says it wants to introduce the speed limit on 23 roads off the A361 Hilperton Road covering a large residential area.

The consultation ended on September 25 and residents are now waiting for the council to make a final decision on whether to vary the road traffic regulations.

A council spokesperson said that as the objection period has only just finished the comments received are currently being considered.
