Drivers using the A361 Hilperton Road through Trowbridge face delays while Wessex Water engineers try to locate the source of a mains leak.

The Bath-based utility company is using two-way signals on the Hilperton Road opposite Trowbridge fire station while it attempts to find and fix the leak.

It is expected that work will take two days to fix and drivers have been urged to avoid the area if possible.

One passerby said: “At lunchtime on Tuesday, the engineers were struggling to locate the source of the leak.

“They may have to refill the trenches they have dug with tarmacadam and then redig more trenches further across the main road.”
