A free Halloween pumpkin trail has launched in Trowbridge town centre – with the chance to win prizes for those taking part.
Thirty-six pumpkins will be displayed in shops and businesses around Trowbridge town centre from Monday (October 23) to Sunday, October 29 during the school half-term holiday.

It’s the third annual pumpkin trail organised by the Trowbridge Chamber and pumpkins can be found in the windows of cafes, art galleries, restaurants, flower, bike and toy shops, estate agents, hairdressers, beauty salons, pet and gift shops, a gin distillery, the library and a circus school.

Trail maps can be downloaded from www.trowbridgechamber.com/events and a limited supply of printed maps will be available from The Toy Shop in Castle Street.
A Chamber spokesperson said: “There are some fantastic prizes to be won by those who complete the whole trail. Participants need to make a note of the numbers displayed alongside or on each pumpkin.”
When they have found all 36 pumpkins, the challenge is to add up all the numbers and then message the total number to @trowbridgechamber or email info@trowbridgechamber.com for a chance to win prizes.
These will include:
- Tickets to the Christmas panto at The Civic (Goldilocks and the 3 Bears)
- A voucher to see a film at the Screening Room Cinema at Parade House (valid for 1 year)
- Oil painting tutorial from Creative Minds
- Family entry to Baloos
- Money box kit with paints and brushes from ArtyKids
- 30-minute sports massage or foot assessment at JEM Body Solutions
- Glass making workshop at Court Street Gallery
- £25 voucher for The Little Boutique in The Shires
- Gin tasting experience for two at Still Sisters in Trowbridge (opening soon)
This year, most of the pumpkins will be decorated externally, without carving, so they can be used again after the trail to make delicious pumpkin soup and pies.
The Trowbridge Chamber, which was re-launched after the Covid lockdown, has more than 160 local and regional members.
They range from freelance designers to consultants, event organisers and solicitors to larger businesses such as Airsprung, Knees and The Shires Shopping Centre. Patron Members include Monahans, The Shires and Elevate OM.
