An increased police presence will be in place in a Wiltshire town while officers’ investigations into a stabbing continue.
The victim suffered a knife wound to the leg, which was originally described by police as minor, during the incident.
A cordon was put in place following the attack but was lifted shortly after.
Investigations are ongoing and Local Inspector Ben Huggins warned there will be an increased police presence in the town during these enquiries.
He said: “We understand that this is a concerning incident for the community and please be assured that we are taking it extremely seriously.
“Residents are likely to see an increased policing presence in the immediate future as we investigate, and we are continuing to engage with a number of local stakeholders.
“We are currently following a number of lines of enquiries and I would urge anyone with information relating to the incident or who witnessed it to please get in contact with us.”
Anyone with information relating to the stabbing can report it to Wiltshire Police by calling 101 and quoting log number 154 of Tuesday, November 7.
Alternatively, information can be left anonymously with Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
