POLICE were called to a wooded area near Westbury after a man was found dead.
A local man in his 50s died from a bullet wound to his head at Stoke Hill, between Edington and Erlestoke, on Sunday at about 3.30am.
When police arrived they discovered a man with a shotgun at his side.
Officers are not looking for anyone else at this stage and there are no suspicious circumstances.
A passport and letter, believed to belong to the man, were discovered in a nearby car.
