The gym at Springfield Community Campus has been closed to the public for four weeks after work began on the highly-anticipated upgrade.
Changes made during the closure include a complete replacement of the fitness equipment and an updated training area which is now more fit for purpose with a versatile rig for bodyweight training, curved treadmills and AirBikes.
On top of this, the gym now boasts an upgraded free eight area featuring integrated lifting, a plat loaded hip thruster and an Olympic four-in-one rack.
More cable machines have also been installed after being requested by gym members, and the whole place is kitted out with new flooring and decoration.

“We’re really excited to welcome customers back into the gym at Springfield with a new look and feel," said Councillor Ian Blair-Pilling, cabinet member for leisure.
"We think the new facilities offer people the chance to experience the highest quality fitness opportunities and some of the most cutting-edge and sought after equipment in the local area."
He added: “We have made this investment to ensure we’ve got the right environment for all our residents, no matter their age or abilities.
"We are committed to provide people with accessible facilities and opportunities to engage in an active lifestyle whether they are just starting out or are already on their fitness journey.
“We thank the customers for their patience whilst the upgrade work took place and we look forward to seeing both returning members and new customers enjoying using the new facilities when they visit.”

Improvements are also underway at Marlborough Leisure Centre and Warminster Sports Centre.
