The best performing primary schools in Wiltshire have been revealed as children fall below the national average performance.
61 per cent of children in England reached the expected standard for reading, writing and maths at the end of the 2023-24 academic year in year six.
In Wiltshire, this was only 57 per cent.
The national figure is a small increase on the 60 per cent who reached the expected level in the 2022-23 academic year. However, both represent a decrease on attainment pre-covid.
65 per cent of the 2018-19 cohort attained the expected level of reading, writing and maths.
Girls continue to outperform boys at the expected standard in all subjects except maths, where boys outperformed girls by one percentage point.

In first place is Stanton St Quintin Primary and Nursery School.
Every pupil at the school met the expected standard in reading, writing and maths.
2. The Holy Trinity Church of England Primary Academy
Coming in second place is The Holy Trinity Church of England Primary Academy – the school had a score of 96%.
3. Sutton Veny Church of England School
With 94% of pupils meeting the expected standard, Sutton Veny Church of England School shares third on the podium of the best performing primary schools in Wiltshire.
4. Ashton Keynes Church of England Primary School
Just missing out on the top three is Ashton Keynes Church of England Primary School
At the school, 93% of pupils met the required standard in these three subjects.
5. Mere School, and Heddington Church of England Primary School
Rounding out the top five with 91% of pupils meeting the required standard in maths, reading and writing are Mere School, and Heddington Church of England Primary School.
7. Winterbourne Earls Church of England Primary School
Just behind is Winterbourne Earls Church of England Primary School, where 90% of pupils met the required standard by the end of year 6.
8. West Ashton Church of England Primary School, Sutton Benger Church of England Primary School, and Woodford Valley Church of England Aided School
With 88% of pupils meeting the expected standard in reading, writing and maths, West Ashton Church of England Primary School, Sutton Benger Church of England Primary School, and Woodford Valley Church of England Aided School come in joint-eighth place.
